My Morning Routine For The Most Productive Day

My morning routine for a productive day is focused around making the day as productive as possible. Starting the day with good morning habits will set yourself up for a productive day. I have taken habits from rich and successful people to make my morning routine as efficient as possible. My video below shows the morning routine I follow myself, to help you get the most out of your morning.

There are so many morning routines out there and the truth is every person is completely different. What I do might not work for you. However, there may be tools or things I do that you can implement to make your routine as successful as possible.

Waking Up Right πŸ›Œ

I’m going to throw a spanner in the works right from the start. There are a lot of people talking about waking up at 5:00 am to have the perfect productive start to your morning routine…however, I believe you need to think about how your body works and what your day-to-day life entails. For example, are you a night owl or an early bird? Do work early or late shifts? Make sure your routine suits you. You don’t have to be in the same 5 am club to be successful πŸ˜‰

If you are productive at night then let your body work at that time. It will be a lot better than forcing yourself to work first thing in the morning.

That said there are definitely things I believe you should do as soon as you wake up –

  1. DON’T press snooze – You don’t really want the first thing in your day to be a failure do you? Well, it isn’t a good start if you fail to get out of bed.
  2. Make your bed – This is a small win and once done you’ve completed your first task of the day!

I think you should always allow around 2 hours before you need to leave the house for work. You should try to keep the time you get up the same every day, yes even the weekends! Having a fixed wake time is so good for our body’s. It reinforces you to go to bed at the same time, to have better quality REM sleep (deep sleep), bodily functions operate more efficiently and we feel more energised in the day.

Drink Some Water🚰

Pretty straight forward I know but so important. In the morning you will always find that your body is more dehydrated. Just look at your morning wee it’s always a bit yellow if not bright orange isn’t it? πŸ˜‚

We need to get our body to start working in homoeostasis as early as possible and not only will this prevent tiredness and feeling of being lethargic, it can also help you lose weight.


I tend to keep a WATER BOTTLE like this one filled up with me all day so I always have water!

Do Some Moving πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ

Stretch, walk, run, yoga, pilates, dance, skip or squat or whatever your fitness poison is. Getting a good little bit of movement done early in the day will get the blood pumping around the body.

I personally like doing some yoga and pilates first thing and then I will do some weight training later in the day. I follow an online yoga class from LOTI YOGA in the mornings.

Journal πŸ““

I’m new to this as well, I was definitely guilty of mixing journalling up with a diary. There are some really key differences. A diary is a collection of actions you did in a day and your feelings about what happened. I believe journaling is more about evaluating and reflecting on your day.

I personally have found it useful to journal twice a day. Once at the end of my morning routine and once at the end of the day. Areas I like to talk about are –

AM –

  • How I slept
  • How did the morning routine go?
  • Fill in tasks to complete that day (look at the list from the day before)

PM –

  • Task check-off
  • Training and exercise reflection
  • Diet
  • Thoughts on the day
  • What am I grateful for
  • Action pointers for tomorrow
  • Tasks for tomorrow to complete

By writing stuff down, you really learn more about your actions and where you could be more productive or make more time in the day.

I use an app called NOTION. In fact, this is where I’m writing this blog post. It’s great for a number of things.

TOP TIP: Don’t see a journal as something where you just write down what you did in your day. Ask yourself questions. Could you make things more efficient the next day? Did you end up scrolling Instagram or TikTok too much? Could you cook your meal prep faster or more efficiently?

Meditation πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ

I’m had dabbled with meditation for a while but never really committed to it. Now I have started using HEADSPACE, I’m really starting to get into it. Using the guided meditation style on there to stop the mind racing is a really useful tool and I’m loving it.

Honestly, I didn’t really see why people meditated. To me it was a weird thing i saw in films and TV shows.


But when you are working, filming vlogs, writing a blog post and making content for other platforms (or whatever your hectic lifestyle may be) your mind doesn’t stop racing with different thoughts. I personally find that I can clear my head allowing me to start working through them in a realistically logical way.

Meal Prep 🍳

This is a key one really. As simple as it may sound. If you have healthy food available, you will eat healthier. The lunch is going to be a lot better if it is homemade rather than getting a meal deal with a sandwich you don’t really like it because there wasn’t any left.

I get all of my meat and protein from MUSCLE FOOD. Each month I do a build-your-own hamper, getting all the meals I like and then it’s delivered straight to your doorstep. No brainer, really.

I also love my AIR FRYER. When it comes to meal prepping this machine is a lifesaver. Any time I’m cooking chicken, homemade chips or fish I pop it in there and let it do its thing. It’s so easy.

Affirmations – “the power of out-loud positive thinking and self-empowerment” – promoting a positive mental attitude towards something, commonly spoken to your reflection. Or how you get your charisma score to go up πŸ˜‚

The cold shower – increases your body’s state of alertness, the cold also stimulates you to take deeper breaths, causing you to replace the CO2 in your body with fresh Oxygen.

Reading or Audiobooks – I tend to do this if I’m going on a run or walk in the morning on my own. Here are a few of my favourite books I’ve listened to recently.


So there it is, my morning routine, for the most productive day! Like I said at the start, it might not be for everyone, but that isn’t the point of the post, it’s to show you what tools I use. Hopefully you can take some of the tips away so you can have the most productive mornings.
